Here is what we have been up to.....

Memorial Day weekend was pretty uneventful. I had to work some so we just stayed around our house. Pops and Uncle Eric came up to watch some sports with Adam and hang out with Emma. These three pictures pretty much sum up our weekend….

Emma had her first haircut on May 29th. It really was more of a “mini” haircut as we just had her bangs trimmed. She has tons of curls in the back so I didn’t want to get those cut! She was so serious the entire time. The shot of her in her car seat is the post cut picture. Sorry that the pictures are not the great. I was holding Emma and Adam was the photographer. I think he may need to take a photography class!

Here are some shots from our friend Alex’s wedding. We went to school together and have been friends since preschool and Adam and Alex have played several sports together over the years. Adam loved our seat at the reception which looked out over a gorgeous golf course and the Mississippi River.

Finally, here are some fairly recent pictures of Emma. She is developing quite the personality. She loves to answer any question that begins with “do you want to” with an enthusiastic “Yeah!” She loves climbing up anything she can get a foot on, including getting all the way to the top of the kitchen table! No pictures to document that though, I didn’t want to have child services called on me (or Adam revoking my babysitting privileges!).

If Anyone Is Still Reading This.....

If anyone is still reading this, here is a new post! Not surprisingly, I have not been faithful to keeping the blog up! We haven’t even been busy so I really have no excuse. Here are all of our updated photos from the past few weeks……

In April, we had a baby shower for my cousin Natalie. She is the sweetest, kindest, most genuine person. She is going to make a great mom! Little Peyton is scheduled to make his arrival in June.

Grammy and Pops bought Emma some Minnie Mouse gear when they were in Florida for spring break. I didn’t take this pictures but I found them on my camera! I am guessing Grammy and Emma had a photo shoot one day! The one in the top left corner cracks me up. She looks like a little old man!

My little cousin Catherine had her first piano recital a few weeks ago. I can’t believe how grown up she is! She has the same piano teacher I had growing up so it was fun to go to her recital. I have to get my piano moved up to my house and start playing again. I can’t let her pass me up!

Every May, since my life began, we go to the Hull Family Reunion. It is my grandpa’s brothers/sisters and all their children and grandchildren. The man holding Emma is her great-great uncle Cordell (My grandpa’s brother). If anyone knew my grandpa, I am sure you see the resemblance!

On Mother’s Day we went to my aunt’s house. Here are a few shots from the day. Grammy was in Ohio so we didn’t get to see her on Mother’s Day.

This past Saturday, we went to visit Grandma Schweiss. We had dinner at her house along with Adam’s Aunt Keetz, Uncle Dave, and cousins Julie and Matt. Here are a few shots from her backyard…

The last stop on Mother’s Day was to the nursing home to see my Grandma Jarvis. It was the end of the day so she was tired but we did get a few pictures with her. It always makes her smile to see Emma which is neat to see. It is amazing what a child can do for someone! The picture of Emma and my dad shows one of Emma’s new faces. Whenever someone is talking to her, if she doesn’t know them and/or does not think what they are saying is funny, she makes this wrinkled up nose face at them! It is funny but somewhat embarrassing at times!

Shopping and a Cardinal Game

Here is Emma today before we headed out to the mall to spend our Gymbucks! (love those!) I told her to grab her purse so we could go shopping and she was ready in a flash! Love that girl!

On Wednesday, we went to the Cardinal game with our friends Dave and Steph. Dave suffers the depressing illness of being a Cubs fan so we are debating on ever taking him back! Special thanks to Grammy for a LONG day of babysitting! (and Al for the tickets!)

Hot Springs, AR

To celebrate the end of tax season, Adam and I went to Hot Springs, AR for some much needed rest! It was my first time to be away from Emma overnight so that was a bit hard! It rained the entire weekend so we didn't do much. We pretty much drove over five hours to watch two movies at the theater! The bed and breakfast we stayed at ended up being really nice, though when we arrived we both were thinking it looked more like a haunted house! Those internet brochures can really make just about anything look good with the right photography and lighting! We were not sure what we had gotten into when we arrived but it ended up being great. Sorry there are so many pictures of Adam... since Emma was not around he was all I had to photograph. Also, I apologize for my frizzy hair in the photos. The rain just does a number on it. I looked like Monica from that one episode of Friends!

Here are some shots of Emma from this morning. I think she enjoyed her time with all of her grandparents this weekend. She didn’t even act like she knew we were gone!

Easter Weekend

Here are a few shots from Easter morning after church. You may think Adam is looking a little thin and scruffy but just two more days and tax season will be over!!!

We spent Easter with my mom's family at my uncle's house. Emma and her cousins Ally and Emilee are all within a few months of age. She played all afternoon with them. They played so well that I almost forgot I was supposed to be watching her!

Here are some pictures with Grammy and Pops........

Every year I dye Easter eggs with my little cousin Catherine. We attempted to let Emma participate but she was not very gentle. She only dyed on egg and then she watched from her seat in the bean bag chair. I think she was enjoying her bottle more than the egg dye!

Emma Turns One!!

On Sunday, we celebrated Emma’s first birthday with my family and some of our friends. Emma LOVED the cake (she takes after her mother!) and was in awe of all the people staring at her! Grammy made her bedding for her baby crib which Emma loved. She has been trying all week to climb IN the crib. Since the crib was originally mine as a child, I doubt it is sturdy enough for her! Sorry for all of the pictures! I am not good at narrowing them down! Obviously!

An afternoon with Papa Jack.....

Friday, April 3rd was Emma's first birthday. Since Adam was still busy with tax season (only a few more days left!), Emma and I spent the day with my dad. I left them for an hour and this is what I came home to! My dad said "she has been into everything!" By the scene I saw, I would have to agree!

Emma's Illinois Birthday Party

The weekend before Emma's first birthday we traveled to El Paso, IL to spend some time with Grammy's family. It was a fun weekend filled with lots of people, a new baby cousin (Baby Natalie!) and a birthday party! Here are a TON of pictures from the weekend!

All babies two and under were put on the couch for a diaper shot. The photos due not really show the true chaos of the event!

And the party pictures......

Emma's Picture Day

We recently had Emma's photos taken. Here are a few shots from her one year photo shoot!

A little behind...

So I said I was going to try and do one post a week, obviously that is not working out! Tomorrow will be two weeks from my last post! Maybe I set my goals too high. I probably should have tried for one post a month! That is typical behavior from me though! In college, Adam used to laugh at me because we were complete opposites. I always said I was going to make an A in a class and then would end up with a B or sometimes even a C. Adam would carry on the entire semester about how he was going to make several B's and end up with a 4.0 every semester! It was just annoying and still is that he is way more productive than me and much more efficient at most areas in life! Oh well, at least I am getting a post in now! Maybe Adam should take over the blog!

Here are a few recent shots of Emma. She loves eating puffs. If you ask me they taste incredibly gross and have an even worse after taste. Adam thinks some flavors are fairly tasty which is good since Emma is into feeding Adam puffs every night! Here is how she prefers to eat them....dump the entire can on the floor and then eat them at her leisure while playing with her toys.

We don't drink coffee at our house often, I prefer tea and Adam is all water. We have/had a coffee pot for when we have company. Well, Emma found it in the cabinet and wouldn't leave it alone. Here she is carrying it right before the inevitable toss on the floor and shattering into a hundred tiny pieces! At least it was a cheap one!

A few weekends ago my Grandpa Jarvis came up for lunch and to see our new house. Though he is 96 years old he still has a ton of energy. He is up on every current event and has an incredible memory. He still lives at home by himself which is amazing. My grandma is also still living (she is going to be 98!) but lives in a local nursing home. It is so funny to see my grandpa with Emma. He loves giving her kisses but is sometimes a few seconds too slow for her! When he was leaving, I told him that he would have to come back for Emma's birthday party next month. His response was "Well, if I am still living!" I told him that he made it this long, surely he would last another month! He laughed and said "yeah, I probably will."

So, this has turned into a ridiculously long post. Here are a few shots of Emma today....

Trying to keep up.....

I have discovered that it is much more enjoyable to read other people's blogs than to do your own, but I am trying my best to keep up. My goal is a post a week! That is the best I can do right now! Here are some photos of Emma with all of her grandparents. My parents are on the top and Adam's parents are on the bottom. Most of you probably already know who is who....

Here are some more recent pictures of Emma. Uncle Eric came and stayed with us a few weekends ago. We like having him around and Emma loves him. She wouldn't stop climbing on him all weekend!

And lastly, here are just a few photos to show Emma in action. Also, if you notice the refrigerator picture, we do not typically drink Corona or Coke; they were left over from a Super Bowl Party!
