Dress Up, The Library, and Papa Buck

Last night, Emma was playing with her dress up clothes when she came up with the ensemble. She came walking up to me and said "Mom, I look TERRIBLE in this dress". Apparently, she has been around me when I am getting ready!

We ventured out to the library this morning to get a few books.  Emma is the perfect age for the library because she loves books.  She does however need to work on talking quietly.  Audrey is not the perfect age for the library.  She was crawling back and forth tearing every book off the shelf she could get her hands on.  Next time, she will be staying home!

We finished up the morning with a visit to Papa Buck's house.  With the ice storm that is being fore casted, it may be awhile before we are able to get back out!

The Long Cold Month of January

Since there is not much exciting that goes on in January, we have not been too active. Our house is still for sale and we have been spending our days in Grammy and Pop’s basement. Occasionally we venture out, usually to Wal-Mart or my grandmas!

One positive thing that has happened in the month of January is that Emma is officially potty trained! I think it was this time last year that I was thinking about starting to potty train her! Then I decided it would be better to wait until after Audrey was born, then I had a newborn, then we had some summer travels, then we got busy with selling our house, and then it was the holidays. So, due to my complete lack of effort and Emma’s strong will, we didn’t really get serious about it until we got completely bored. I am just glad it is over and she can go to preschool in the fall. I was starting to get a little worried! On a side note I would just like to say that I HATE potty training. It requires such energy and a severe amount of work on the parents/grandparents part that I think WE should be the ones getting the treats and prizes when they have a success!

So here is the rest of the month in pictures. I thought I better get all of the photos I had posted before we get hit with the huge ice/snow storm that is coming our way. We are starting to panic about entertaining the kids if the power goes out! Grammy picked a bad week to be out of town! Hopefully the weather won’t be so bad that we can’t send the on a sled down the street to Grandma Cathy’s!

We spent some time at Catherine’s basketball game and watching her be a cheerleader. Adam got a little depressed watching the sixth grade girls play basketball because he was envisioning himself doing that in a few years. I guess that age level playing basketball is not quite as exciting as he would like it to be!

We went to see Grandma Schweiss. She is the cutest 90 year old in the world. She had a cherry pie all ready and waiting for us when we got there!

We celebrated our sweet cousin Mady’s 7th birthday. We loved seeing all of our family and loading up on some cake and homemade ice cream. Happy Birthday Mady, we love you!

Finally, here are a few of my other favorite photos from the month. So long January!

Emma's New Haircut

Since it is winter and we were bored, we decided to get Emma's haircut. I was torn about it because I knew this would be a goodbye to all of her curls but it turned out pretty cute. It was just getting too long and since Emma does not like to sit still long enough to get it fixed, it usually ended up looking like a stringy mess! She did great while she was getting it cut and sat perfectly still.

Finishing up Christmas

We spent New Year's Day in IL with Grammy's family celebrating Christmas.  It was the last of our seven celebrations!

These are five of the six babies (we our missing Andy) that have been born in the last 16 months!  We also got a shot of all of the Grandma's the babies belong too!  It was a little chaotic trying to get a good picture!

The women always do a gift exchange.  This year it was all homemade gifts!  There were some really cool things that people came up with.  It is a very creative family!

If it is the babies first Christmas everyone buys them a gift.  Here is Audrey enjoying all her new things!

Our New Life

Our life has been a little hectic since mid November. Adam got a new job and we decided to move! So we put our house up for sale and moved back to our hometown. We are currently living in Grammy and Pops’ basement until we sell our house. We moved the week of Thanksgiving and Adam started his job the Monday after. Between moving and the holidays, life has been a little crazy! We just have one more Christmas to celebrate on New Year’s Day with Grammy’s family and then we will be done. I personally am looking forward to a boring January and February just to get caught up on my rest! If you are bored, there is several new blog posts below that you can read. If not, just know that we are all fine, we moved, and had a great Christmas!

Here are a few recent photos to start you off with. In the meantime, our little Audrey girl turned 10 months. She is quite the crawler, climber, walking around furniture, wild, happy baby! We can’t believe it will be time to start planning her birthday soon!
