I don't care how old I get, but I love June 1st. It is my birthday and my kids give me extra hugs and kisses, people call and text you, and you get cake! My mom always made me feel extra special on my birthday when I was a kid. When my birthday was during the week she would usually take the day off work, just to be with me. When it came time for my party, she would stay up all night cooking, cleaning and preparing. She still, every year, is the first one to call and always has some type of "party" like the one below. We had dinner at my grandma's and then cake!
